This is grandkids at Christmas. Sam has really grown. Such a great looking group. They really enjoy being together. Avery and Charlie don't start fighting until at least an hour or two.
Here is one of Taylor's senior pictures. Yes, I said senior. He graduates in May.
This is Lori and Jess all dressed up to go to Christmas Eve service.
Trevon, Sandy and Avery went with them.

This is the lake we stayed at. Our cabins looked right out on this beautiful sight. Jarod and Sandy are enjoying the canoe.
Jess and Taylor seemed happy to catch fish.

Here we all are. What a great place to be with people you love. We decided that we would go back again for another vacation.

This is a stop on the way up the mountain to our cabins where we spent 4 days eating, fishing and enjoying family. This is Taylor, the tallest, Ryan, Jarod in back, and Sandy, Lori and Sami in front, with Jarod holding Charlie. Look at the snow. It was great for me that it wasn't like this where we vacationed.
Here is Grandpa fishing with Charlie
And Avery.
Here is Gma sleeping with Sam. Love vacations.

These are old pictures that I never got on the blog. So, here is Trevon, Gpa and Taylor measuring to see who is taller. This all happened in Colorado on our family vacation in May 2008. Trevon is feeling the pain because he doesn't come close. Taylor is finally taller than Gpa, which means he is taller than Ryan. The only person he has to pass now is Claud. We'll see. He was still only 17 here.
Cute pictures of the grandkids, again in May 2008, at Trevon and Sandy's house. Taylor and Sam.
Jess and Avery.

Charlie and Avery climbing on Trevon's backyard fence to see Lani and Jarod riding the 4 wheeler.

Once the entry table was rebuilt, I decided to build some new end tables for the couch. Here is $80 worth of materials for 1 table
Here are the machined top, skirt, shelf and legs.

The table assembled and stained.
And the two new end tables in the living room. With the exception of the TV table on the far right, we've got a pretty nice suite of dining room, living room furniture made from oak. Looks nice with the oak floor.

Over the Christmas break, I decided to make an oak top and shelf for our entry table. The previous top and shelf were pine.
I was able to reuse the oak legs and skirt.
The finished product came out pretty nice.
And it looks fine tucked in it's original location behind our front door.

My most recent project on the house was to replace this 30-year old (estimate) access ladder to our attic.
I built the new ladder from redwood and gave it a good foundation.
Handrail detail.
Here's the finished product. Should I paint or stain it? I'm open for suggestions.
