Okay, here we go again! With my hand well on the way to healing, I've been able to go to work again in the shop. With the installation of the water heater and the top-out plumbing, we are ready to call for the final plumbing inspection. Here's hoping that goes well.

As you can see, the trim has been caulked. What remains is a bit of interior painting, installation of the tile backsplash, final cleaning and sealing of the grout, installation of the shutters, and a little bit of trim work and painting on the outside. After the final electrical inspection I will be able to call for the final overall inspection to gain occupancy. Then it's ready for visitors. And that's exactly what we are after. When the kids and their families visit, they will have a choice of the garage apartment or the shop apartment. If you count the bedroom in the main house that enables us to put everyone up at the same time without overcrowding.  Posted by Picasa
I'm thinking that this will be the last photo of my surgically repaird right middle finger. I have about 20% strength and maybe 50% range of motion and am working to increase those with the help of a physical therapist. I'm very grateful that the tendon has been reattached and that the joint works. This injury has kept me from working on the shop, but that work has begun again this Thanksgiving weekend.  Posted by Picasa
