A couple of macros on the way to the Mendenhall Glacier.

And here are a couple views of the glacier itself.

I went fishing in Ketchikan, Alaska. Five of us, four tourists and a guide, went about 6 miles from the dock to catch halibut.

This one weighed in at about 20 lbs. I caught it in 150 feet of water on the bottom and took about 10 minutes to land it.

The guide cleaned the fish and it fed about 20 people at the fish camp they had set up on a small island.

The food was great! As Mark Twain wrote, "Hunger is the best sauce."

But I'll have to say, it was good to come home to a nice clean stateroom, a warm shower, and a firm matress (with my favorite woman on it!)

The water service to the tub was a real bear! I had to make an access through the wall coming in from my study. Once it was all done, it seemed pretty simple. But getting there was quite a bit of work.

The access panel in the study will be trimmed with oak that matches the bookshelves. Since the location is beside my study desk, it shouldn't be too conspicuous.

The angle iron at the top with the 1/2-inch hole will be drilled through with 2 each 7/8-inch holes to mount the faucet.  If all goes well, we should have a faucet that can't be pulled out of the wall by over-exuberant grandchildren.

All the old electrical wiring, switches, lights, and plugs were removed and replaced with new (including a GFI outlet by the sink). The blue sheetrock is water and mold resistant and the lighter board on the walls and floor are cement board used as an underlayment for the tile.

A new vent pipe for the plumbing... a new frame for the wall (notice the old window in the original wall - that was closed off when we remodelled this bathroom some 31 years ago)... a new pocket-door frame... and new sheetrock on the ceiling (with it's new vent fan0.

Tearing out the old.

Here's our bathroom as it looked about 2 weeks ago. In fact, this is the way it looked for the past 20-some years.

Here's my latest project - a TV table for our living room.

I made it to check out the pattern for the leg. I'd like to use this patterin in some tables I'm planning to make for Lori.
